Director of Creative Media and Office Manager

Stillman College•Tuscaloosa, AL

About The Position

Stillman College seeks a creative, organized, and mission-driven Director of Creative Media and Office Manager to build the President’s creative media function and ensure the efficient daily operation of the Office of the President. The position reports directly to the President and works in collaboration with the Director of Communications, who retains approval authority for institutional messaging, brand standards, public relations, and crisis communication. Approximately 80 percent of the role is devoted to creative media and 20 percent to office management. The creative media portion is supported by federal Title III funds, and the office management portion by institutional funds; the incumbent completes periodic time-and-effort certifications. The Director produces photography, video, interviews, social content, and visual stories for the College; covers presidential and institutional events; and supports creative media efforts for Athletics and other senior leaders as needed. The role also develops storytelling series, maintains a publishing calendar, builds and organizes a central photo and video archive, and recruits, trains, schedules, and supervises student creatives. The Director tracks content output and results and reports regularly to the President. The office management portion includes managing office systems, supplies, and records; processing purchasing requests and monitoring the office budget with Finance and Administration; coordinating meeting and event logistics; and scheduling and supervising work-study students. The position coordinates closely with the Executive Assistant to the President and is expected to maintain confidentiality and discretion. Evening and weekend availability is required for events as needed. The successful candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, digital media, film, photography, marketing, or a related field; at least three years of professional experience in photography, videography, and digital content production; and a portfolio demonstrating photography, video, and storytelling work. Office administration or operations experience is preferred, and higher education experience is strongly preferred. Applicants should include a portfolio or links to recent work. Employment is contingent on a pre-employment background investigation, including information from social media and other internet sources; a prior conviction does not automatically disqualify a candidate, and individualized review may be conducted.
