About The Position

Valle Verde is seeking an exceptional Community Life Director to lead and inspire our residents in achieving their Best Life. This pivotal role goes beyond traditional activities coordination—it's about shaping a culture of growth, well-being, and empowerment for older adults of all abilities. The Director of Community Life oversees the development and implementation of programming that engages residents to create experiences that inspire their best lives, and promotes/engages team members and residents in our "Best Life" philosophy. Best Life is a unique and holistic dementia care approach that helps people and organizations support those living with dementia to live rich and rewarding lives!

Requirements

  • Three to Five years of prior related experience or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.
  • A dynamic, relationship-driven individual who thrives on community building and resident empowerment.
  • A creative and visionary leader who can craft programs and opportunities for growth, wellness, and connection.
  • A passionate advocate for older adults, with a commitment to promoting a life of dignity, purpose, and continued learning.
  • A servant leader.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, recreation therapy, aging, business, or related field, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the development and implementation of programming that engages residents to create experiences that inspire their best lives.
  • Promotes and engages team members and residents in our "Best Life" philosophy.
  • Coaches a team to achieve goals within every area of the community – independent living, assisted living, memory support, and skilled nursing.
  • Implements a person-directed approach toward resident engagement in our new, innovative model of long-term care: four, 8-person small house homes for those who need skilled nursing care.
