About The Position

Valora of Orono, a new Lifespark Senior Living Community, is seeking a compassionate and passionate Director of Community Life/Activities Director to join their growing team. This role is crucial in enriching the lives of residents in a Lifespark Senior Living Community, impacting them by becoming part of their family. The community is located in Orono, MN, offering Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care services in a 72-unit apartment-style setting. Lifespark is a complete senior health company dedicated to helping seniors live fuller, more independent lives.

Requirements

  • Must be compassionate and have a desire to make a difference in the lives of the tenants.
  • Ability to train and motivate others while acting as a role model and mentor.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Professional experience in health care of at least 2 years

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the development, organization, and coordination of facility and community resources to provide comprehensive Wellness/Recreation/Activity Services and programs that meet the needs and interests of each tenant.
  • Provide an ongoing program of community life activities designed to meet the Physical, Social, Intellectual, Emotional, Spiritual, Vocational, and Environmental well-being of each tenant.
  • Provide a Community Life program daily, including evenings and weekends.
  • Purchase and maintain equipment and supplies and provide for their accessibility through organized storage.
  • Attend and participate in orientation, training, in-service education activities, and staff meetings as assigned to maintain compliance.
  • Communicate programs and develop positive relations with tenants, family, and volunteers.
  • Foster family and community support through the Community Program (e.g., newsletters, networking, activities that bring family members and community members into the building).
  • Contribute to community efforts to maintain and/or improve quality of life and quality of care by participating in Care conferences, QAPI, and Department Head Meetings.
