About The Position

The University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UTK) is seeking a highly motivated and visionary leader for the position of Director in the Office of Community Engagement and Outreach (OCEO). This role, reporting to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Academic and External Relations, is crucial for providing high-level leadership in outreach, community engagement, and engaged scholarship. The Director will be a thought leader in developing strategies to advance UT's R1 research activity and land-grant mission, fostering impactful partnerships locally, regionally, and statewide. This includes supporting the Division of Access and Engagement (DAE) and OCEO's grants program, community-engaged scholarship initiatives, professional development, seminars, and workshops. The position offers strategic leadership and operational oversight for the OCEO, managing staff, budgets, programs, and initiatives aligned with the university's mission. Key responsibilities include cultivating and sustaining partnerships with diverse stakeholders, leading university-wide engagement efforts, managing funding opportunities and awards programs, and representing the university in collaborative problem-solving. The Director will also oversee communications, outreach materials, engagement events, and lead assessment and reporting efforts to evaluate impact and guide strategic decisions.
