About The Position

NeuroPsychiatric Hospitals (NPH) is a national leader in behavioral healthcare, specializing in caring for patients with acute psychiatric and complex medical needs. Our hospitals provide patient-centered care through an interdisciplinary, multi-specialty approach. The Neuropsychiatriac Hospital of Indianapolis (NPHI), a member of the NPH family, is seeking a Director of Clinical Services (MSW) to oversee its clinical service program, including day-to-day management of program policies, procedures, and guidelines. The role emphasizes clinical excellence and exceptional compliance performance.

Requirements

Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or other social services degree required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) and Handle With Care (HWC) certification required and obtained during orientation.

Nice To Haves

Minimum of 3 years of experience in healthcare or mental health services preferred.
Prior leadership experience is a plus.
Active licensure preferred (MSW, LMSW, LCSW, LPC, LPCC, CMHC, or equivalent based on state requirements)

Responsibilities

Develops and maintains social services program, drafting supporting policies, procedures, and guidelines for the program.
Conducts psychosocial assessments to document history and identify preliminary issues for treatment focus by interviewing the patient and their family members.
Communicates with physicians to report patient progress, needs, concerns, and potential and actual problems.
Provides short-term individual counseling, community resource planning, and crisis intervention.
Develops and coordinates an individualized discharge plan for the patient by utilizing treatment team and chart information to determine the patient's aftercare needs.
Maintains accurate and timely records, including clinical and progress notes, according to department policy.
Participates in planning and implementing quality improvement activities.
Provides positive customer relations in dealing with patients, families, physicians, fellow department employees, other hospital departments, referral resources, service agencies, and others.
Provide backup services for incoming assessment and referral calls.
