About The Position

The NeuroPsychiatriac Hospital of Indianapolis (NPHI), a member of the NeuroPsychiatric Hospital family, is looking for a Director of Clinical Services (MSW) to serve its patients and hospital leadership team in Indianapolis. The Director of Clinical Services will have oversight of NPHI's clinical service program and day-to-day oversight of program policies, procedures, and guidelines. Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or other social services degree required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in healthcare or mental health services preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Handle With Care (HWC) certification required and obtained during orientation.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior leadership experience is a plus.
  • Active licensure preferred (MSW, LMSW, LCSW, LPC, LPCC, CMHC, or equivalent based on state requirements)

Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains social services program, drafting supporting policies, procedures, and guidelines for the program.
  • Conducts psychosocial assessments to document history and identify preliminary issues for treatment focus by interviewing the patient and their family members.
  • Communicates with physicians to report patient progress, needs, concerns, and potential and actual problems.
  • Provides short-term individual counseling, community resource planning, and crisis intervention.
  • Develops and coordinates an individualized discharge plan for the patient by utilizing treatment team and chart information to determine the patient's aftercare needs.
  • Maintains accurate and timely records, including clinical and progress notes, according to department policy.
  • Participates in planning and implementing quality improvement activities.
  • Provides positive customer relations in dealing with patients, families, physicians, fellow department employees, other hospital departments, referral resources, service agencies, and others.
  • Provide backup services for incoming assessment and referral calls.
