Director of Clinical Excellence | System Administration Office
About The Position
Provides enterprise-level leadership to operationalize the Clinical Excellence Roadmap across UF Health. Reporting to the Chief Quality Officer, this role is responsible for translating system-wide clinical quality strategy into structured governance, disciplined execution, and measurable performance improvement. Leads the design and execution of enterprise clinical excellence initiatives, ensuring alignment across entities, reducing unwarranted variation, and driving sustained improvement in publicly reported, regulatory, and value-based outcomes. Establishes measurable enterprise impact through strong governance infrastructure, transparent performance tracking, and consistent execution across the UF Health Clinical Enterprise.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 7+ years of progressive healthcare experience in clinical excellence
- 3+ years in a leadership role
Nice To Haves
- Master’s degree (MHA, MPH, MBA, MSN, or related healthcare field) strongly preferred
Responsibilities
- Operationalize the Clinical Excellence Roadmap into structured enterprise initiatives
- Translate executive strategy into actionable plans, governance, and measurable outcomes
- Establish ownership, timelines, and accountability; monitor progress and escalate risks
- Design and maintain governance structures and accountability frameworks
- Standardize clinical processes and reduce unwarranted variation across entities
- Ensure decisions are documented, communicated, and implemented system-wide
- Partner with clinical and operational leaders to advance quality and patient safety
- Support regulatory compliance and accreditation readiness
- Monitor performance trends and proactively address risks
- Develop dashboards, scorecards, and performance reporting
- Translate data into actionable insights and identify improvement opportunities
- Support enterprise goal-setting and accountability
- Develop executive-level presentations and facilitate cross-functional groups
- Influence stakeholders and communicate effectively across a matrixed environment
- Manage multiple initiatives with clear deliverables and timelines
- Track progress, ensure accountability, and drive execution from design to impact
