About The Position
The Director of Catering leads on-site catering experiences at an esteemed account, overseeing events from initial inquiry through final cleanup. The role leads and develops a catering team, builds client relationships, and ensures events deliver polished, welcoming hospitality. The Director also plans catering marketing and menus, manages operational execution and cost controls, and serves as a point of contact for clients and team members.
Requirements
- Proven hospitality experience in full-service hotels, fine dining event spaces, or restaurants.
- At least 2 years of experience in catering management.
- A track record of leading an engaged, focused catering team.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with team members and clients.
- Hands-on experience booking, selecting, and costing menu items; pricing contracts; and sourcing temporary help and equipment.
- Ability to supervise food preparation, service, and cleanup while maintaining quality.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality or Culinary Arts preferred.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee all on-site executive catering events from first inquiry to final cleanup.
- Build and maintain the catering marketing plan, including a full-service event planning experience and thoughtful menu development for clients.
- Hire, train, and schedule catering team members, and support their growth through in-service training, menu presentation, and policies and procedures.
- Run catering operations, including labor and food cost control, food preparation, transportation, setup, service, and breakdown.
- Serve as a point of contact who keeps the team and clients confident and connected.
- Supervise food preparation, service, and cleanup with attention to quality.
