About The Position

The Director of Business Systems Administration provides leadership over a multi-team organization of Business Systems Administrators supporting enterprise platforms including ERP, MES, CRM, and other critical business applications across Enterprise, Construction, and Manufacturing systems. The Director of Business Systems is responsible for setting the strategic direction for business systems support, ensuring consistent service delivery across all teams, and fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement. This role partners closely with senior business stakeholders, technology leadership, operations, and external vendors to align systems capabilities with enterprise and manufacturing priorities. The Director of Business Systems will oversee budgeting and resource planning, manage complex vendor and contract relationships, ensure adherence to ITIL and other governance frameworks, and serve as the escalation point for high-impact incidents and cross-team challenges. The Director of Business Systems is also responsible for developing and coaching direct reports, building a high-performing organization capable of supporting the company’s evolving technology landscape.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 8+ years of experience leading business systems teams, application support teams, or a related teams, with at least 4 years in a senior leadership role preferred
  • Experience with manufacturing systems strongly preferred; familiarity with manufacturing operations, processes, and terminology is a plus
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise business systems including ERP, MES, CRM, or similar platforms
  • Demonstrated experience leading multi-team organizations, including developing and mentoring people managers
  • Strong knowledge of application lifecycle management, enterprise systems strategy, incident management, and service delivery
  • Experience with application monitoring tools, performance optimization, capacity planning, and enterprise architecture concepts
  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategic roadmaps for business systems or IT operations
  • Extensive experience managing third-party vendors, contracts, and strategic partnerships
  • Strong understanding of ITIL or other relevant IT service management frameworks
  • In-depth knowledge of security best practices, compliance requirements, and regulatory standards related to business systems and application management

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for all Business Systems teams, overseeing support operations for enterprise platforms including ERP, MES, CRM, and related applications
  • Define and drive the enterprise business systems strategy, aligning team goals and roadmaps with organizational and manufacturing priorities
  • Develop, coach, and performance-manage direct reports, building leadership capability across the organization
  • Establish and enforce enterprise-wide support processes, governance standards, and operational frameworks to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery
  • Monitor and report on organizational performance, SLA compliance, and key business systems metrics to senior leadership
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with business units, manufacturing operations, technology teams, and executive stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and support of enterprise applications
  • Oversee vendor relationships and contract negotiations, serving as the senior point of contact for strategic technology partners
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across all Business Systems teams, identifying opportunities to optimize tools, processes, and team structures
  • Own escalation management for high-impact, cross-team incidents and ensure timely and effective resolution
  • Lead capacity planning and resource allocation across all Business Systems teams, balancing demand with organizational capacity
  • Oversee the lifecycle management of the company’s business applications portfolio, including planning for upgrades, retirements, and new implementations
  • Ensure all business systems operations comply with relevant security, regulatory, and audit requirements
  • Manage budget planning and fiscal accountability for the Business Systems organization
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continually evolve the organization’s capabilities
