About The Position

The Director of Assisted Living oversees Assisted Living and Memory Support services at Westminster Communities of Bradenton. The role is responsible for the department’s staffing, strategic planning, operations, budget performance, resident care coordination, and medication processes. The Director manages residents’ day-to-day needs, communicates changes and needs to families, and conducts family meetings. The position also supports resident assessments and participates in Level of Care meetings.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (R.N.) with at least five years of progressively responsible experience.
• Prior Assisted Living Director experience in a comparable-sized community.
• Proven ability to create consistent processes across multiple sites.
• CORE training required.
• Must be CPR certified.
• Must be familiar with long-term care of older adults and able to function independently.
• Must be able to speak, read, and understand English.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field.

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff, including interviewing, selection, training, motivation, wage and salary administration, performance appraisal, and management of policies and procedures to support departmental goals.
• Lead strategic planning and department operations, implement cost-control measures, and meet budget goals.
• Assist with assessments of new residents moving into Assisted Living from Independent Living or from outside the community.
• Ensure the appearance of the Assisted Living Department.
• Participate in Level of Care meetings.
• Manage residents’ day-to-day needs, communicate needs or changes to family members, and conduct family meetings related to residents.
• Oversee medication dispensing and handling, maintain appropriate medication inventory levels, ensure regular audits, and oversee monthly MORS.
