About The Position

The Director of Admissions oversees both the clinical and administrative tasks related to the Admissions Department. This position provides clinical direction in psychiatric and chemical dependency assessment services including evaluation, crisis intervention, and referrals. The director interfaces closely with administration, medical staff, and other hospital departments. The Director of Assessment & Referral (DAR) is accountable for managing the Assessment and Referral department and operations. Must possess a working knowledge of psychiatric diagnoses, addiction and recovery, treatment planning, and experience in patient assessment and clinical interview. Must be able to communicate effectively with external review organizations and insurance providers. Complete knowledge of crisis intervention techniques required. Additionally, must be able to communicate professionally with persons of diverse backgrounds. Requirements

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in nursing, social work, psychology, mental health or a related field.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting.
  • R.N., L.M.S.W., LPC or applicable license.
  • Requires standing and walking for prolonged periods of time.
  • Frequently lifts up to 25 pounds.
  • Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity, and hand-eye coordination.
  • Requires frequent pushing, pulling of heavy loads, kneeling, grasping, stooping and bending.
  • Ability to maintain patient and corporate confidentiality.
  • Must be able to speak, read and write.
  • Emotional stability necessary to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Vision and hearing sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Requires repetitive use of hands and light lowering of objects.

Nice To Haves

  • one (1) years leadership experience managing a related function, preferred.
  • Prior Intake experience strongly preferred.
