About The Position

QSL Management is hiring a Director of Activities for Barclay House of Augusta. The role leads the Activities Department and supports residents’ social, recreational, and community engagement. The Director develops and implements an annual activity calendar, plans in-house events and off-campus activities, supervises appropriate staff, prepares a monthly newsletter for residents and mail recipients, and encourages resident participation. Activities should promote family, joy, and socialization while embracing the culture of the geographic area.

Requirements

• Have a caring heart and willingness to serve others.
• Have experience with the geriatric population, including Alzheimer’s and dementia, and the ability to adapt to changing behaviors.
• Have the ability to multitask and strong organizational, communication, and public relations skills.
• Demonstrate creativity, flexibility, and teamwork.
• Hold a valid driver’s license and have a safe driving record.
• Have proven computer skills with Microsoft Word and Office.
• Be flexible with the work schedule, including holidays and weekends.

Nice To Haves

• Associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Teaching experience or adult learning experience.
• Commercial driver’s license (CDL).

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement an annual calendar of activities that gives residents daily opportunities to socialize and enjoy recreational activities.
• Plan in-house events and off-campus activities that promote family, joy, and socialization and embrace the culture of the geographic area.
• Plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of the Activities Department.
• Supervise appropriate staff.
• Develop a monthly newsletter for residents and mail recipients.
• Facilitate and encourage resident engagement through activities.
• Market activities and events to family members through social media.
