About The Position

QSL Management is hiring a Director of Activities for The Barclay at Charlottesville. The role is responsible for the overall operation of the Activities Department, including planning and directing its activities and supervising appropriate staff. The Director develops and implements programming that supports resident socialization, recreation, engagement, family connection, and enjoyment. The position also develops a monthly newsletter for residents and mail recipients and promotes activities and events to family members through social media.

Valid driver's license and a safe driving record.
Experience with the geriatric population, including Alzheimer's and dementia, and ability to adapt to changing behaviors.
Proven computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Office.
Flexibility to work holidays and weekends.

Nice To Haves

Associate's or bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred, but not required.
Teaching experience or adult learning experience preferred.
CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement an annual calendar of activities that gives residents daily opportunities to socialize and participate in recreation.
Plan in-house events and off-campus activities that promote family, joy, and socialization and embrace the local area's culture.
Plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of the Activities Department.
Supervise appropriate staff.
Develop a monthly newsletter for residents and mail recipients.
Facilitate and encourage resident engagement through activities.
Market activities and events to family members through social media.
