About The Position

Advocus National Title Insurance Company is a title insurance underwriter and settlement service provider. Based in Chicago and formerly known as Attorneys’ Title Guaranty Fund, Inc. (ATG), our roots go back to 1964. Title insurance safeguards property buyers and lenders against financial loss or legal disputes if there are hidden defects in a property's ownership history. It covers pre-existing issues such as forgery, unrecorded liens, unpaid taxes, or missing heirs. The Director of National Title Operations is responsible for the day-to-day management of title production operations across Advocus National Title Insurance Company’s underwriting business and direct title operations. This individual will oversee production teams, monitor workflow, ensure service levels are consistently achieved, maintain quality standards, and support operational consistency across multiple states. The Director works closely with the Chief Operating Officer and other operational leaders to execute company initiatives while ensuring efficient, accurate, and timely title production. This role is responsible for managing both internal production teams and outsourced production partners to deliver exceptional service and quality. This position may be performed remotely with periodic travel as business needs require.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of title industry experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience managing title production teams.
  • Extensive experience managing residential purchase and production across multiple states.
  • Strong understanding of title search and examination and title commitment development.
  • Demonstrated experience working with outsourced title production partners, including workflow coordination, vendor oversight, quality assurance, and service level management.
  • Experience managing production metrics and operational performance.
  • Strong organizational, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced national production environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Commercial title experience is a plus.
  • Experience with SoftPro or similar title production platforms is preferred.
  • Experience working within the Illinois attorney title market.
  • Experience supporting both underwriting agent operations and direct title operations.
  • Experience working in a national title company with multi-state operations.
  • Experience implementing operational improvements and production best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operations of national title production across multiple business lines including both underwriting and direct operations.
  • Oversee all title production teams including order entry, search and abstract production, examination, and commitment preparation to ensure service level commitments, quality standards, and production goals are consistently achieved in accordance with customs and practices on a state-by-state level.
  • Monitor workflow, staffing levels, production queues, and file pipelines to ensure timely completion of search package delivery, abstract, title commitment and related title products as needed per individual market demand.
  • Identify operational issues and proactively resolve production bottlenecks.
  • Ensure consistent execution of company policies, procedures, and operational best practices.
  • Oversee residential purchase title production across multiple states.
  • Support commercial title production activities when applicable.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of varying state title requirements, underwriting guidelines, and operational workflows.
  • Assist with operational support as Advocus expands into new markets.
  • Coordinate workflow between internal production teams and outsourced title production partners.
  • Develop strong working relationships with outsourced vendors and production partners.
  • Monitor vendor performance, quality, turnaround times, and service level expectations.
  • Allocate work appropriately between internal staff and outsourced resources to maximize efficiency while maintaining quality.
  • Collaborate with outsourced partners to resolve production issues and ensure consistent customer service.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop supervisors and production staff.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and support employee development.
  • Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and training new team members.
  • Promote accountability, teamwork, collaboration, and a customer-focused culture.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, underwriting requirements, and applicable federal and state regulations.
  • Partner with Underwriting, Compliance, and Legal teams to resolve title-related issues.
  • Maintain high quality standards through effective quality control and process oversight.
  • Support internal audits and quality assurance initiatives.
  • Monitor production metrics including: Turnaround times, Productivity, Pipeline management, Quality, Customer satisfaction, Employee productivity.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflow, efficiency, and operational performance.
  • Assist with departmental reporting and operational analysis.
  • Partner with Sales, Underwriting, Escrow, Operations, Technology, and Customer Service teams to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
  • Support implementation of operational improvements and technology enhancements.
  • Participate in special projects and operational initiatives as assigned.
