About The Position

The team possesses extensive experience in Medicaid, behavioral health, and social services at federal, state, and local levels. Aurrera Health Group is a small, woman-owned and women-led business headquartered in Sacramento, California, with a geographically dispersed team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree + 10 years of relevant health policy experience, OR Master’s degree + 8 years, OR JD + 7 years.
  • Medicaid policy expertise, including Medicaid waiver flexibilities, eligibility and enrollment policy.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to engage effectively with clients and partners.
  • Proven success managing teams, supervising staff, and leading complex policy projects with multiple stakeholders and priorities.
  • Experience working on strategic communications initiatives in Medicaid or related health or human services programs translating complex policy into health communications campaigns and collateral.
  • Ability to work hours aligned with peak Eastern time zone business hours.
  • Deep health-policy expertise and client-facing consulting experience.
  • Medicaid or state/federal policy experience from working in government, as a consultant, or with an association.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee complex client projects in policy development and stakeholder outreach.
  • Manage consulting staff, delegate tasks, and ensure top-quality deliverables.
  • Grow business opportunities through networking, conferences, and strategic proposals.
  • Produce deliverables for project work.
