Director Learning Strategy, Oncology YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES The primary responsibilities of this role, Director Learning Strategy, Oncology are to: Responsible for client relationship management as well as developing and implementing successful training plans for all field facing colleagues aligned to prioritized franchise and organizational goals. Oversee the work of Associate Directors, prioritizing and deploying available resources for maximum efficiency and successful outcomes. This position will report to the Vice President of Learning and Development. Partner with Sales, Marketing, Market Access and Field Operations leadership to develop sales training curricula, state-of-the-art training tools and materials and related skills development programs to meet organizational training needs. Direct regular training needs assessment activities, proposing and developing solutions to fill training gaps; Function as an integral part of the Sales, Marketing, and Field Operations teams, building trusted partnerships with franchise stakeholders; Represent Learning and Development in the brand planning and business planning processes. Ensure all programming and materials meet regulatory and legal requirements; Foster a learning environment based on adult learning principles that ensure optimal comprehension, development and retention. Stay abreast of Learning and Development best practices and current trends in pharmaceutical, device, and biosciences industries - utilizing current advances in technology. Have a comprehensive understanding of the latest clinical information related to Bayer products and their competition to optimize the delivery and relevance of training materials and subsequent field facing interactions with customers; Develop and manage the fiscal budget related to Learning and Development activities. Continually evaluate needs and potential solutions for opportunities to apply ‘above the franchise’ solutions which can be more strategically and efficiently applied throughout the franchises and the department; Hire, train, coach, develop and manage a team of highly performing Associate Directors/subject matter experts; Develop and maintain effective vendor partnerships and alliance management relationships to achieve high quality outcomes; Create, monitor, and maintain a training schedule to advance the professional development of new hire and tenured field facing colleagues. Continuously seek feedback from sales & brand leadership to ensure training gaps are addressed and initiatives are incorporated in learning material. Requirements

  • Demonstrated expertise in developing, implementing and measuring training effectiveness
  • Strong leadership, collaboration, and management competencies and business acumen a must
  • Excellent virtual, presentation, and verbal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, to meet short deadlines, and to collaborate across stakeholder groups
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact seamlessly with all levels
  • Strong project management experience, ability to prioritize multiple projects effectively
  • Experience in communicating thoughts and ideas with executive levels of leadership – written and oral communications and an ability to translate big brand strategy into clear actionable & tactical initiatives
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality where appropriate
  • Proven business acumen, including strong analytical skills, interpretation, and business problem solving
  • Self-directed in ambiguous situations
  • Strong decision-making skills and ability to delegate/lead business critical initiatives
  • This position is field based but requires occasional travel to our headquarters, Whippany, NJ
  • BA/BS degree required Health Science/Education discipline
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience working in either Healthcare industry or previous experience in a training organization
