About The Position

The Director, Indirect Tax will assist with the preparation, planning, execution, and management of Match Group’s indirect global tax strategy, compliance, and lead ongoing or anticipated tax controversy. Match Group, through its portfolio companies, is a leading provider of dating products available globally. Our portfolio of brands includes Tinder, Match, OkCupid, Hinge, PlentyOfFish, as well as a number of other brands, each designed to increase our users' likelihood of finding a meaningful connection.

Requirements

10+ years of indirect tax experience, both US & VAT, with a deep understanding of indirect tax systems and laws (ideal candidate will have a mix of public accounting and in-house tax experience)
Proficient in performing technical research and preparing audit-ready documentation of conclusions reached
An understanding and desire to learn and implement AI-bolstered solutions
Experience managing people with demonstrated ability to mentor and develop professional staff as well as work in a team-oriented environment
Highly self-motivated and directed
Can communicate ideas in both technical and non-technical language
A B.S. degree in Accounting or Finance

Nice To Haves

Workday, Vertex, and OneSource experience (strongly preferred)

Responsibilities

Managing US sales and use tax, VAT, and DST for the company and its affiliates, including compliance, research, and business support
Managing all global indirect tax compliance and reporting by teaming with internal and external partners
Developing and maintaining robust internal controls around key indirect tax processes and systems
Driving operational excellence across core activities and provide operational insight, including implementation of process efficiency and technology initiatives
Acting as the subject matter expert in supporting business initiatives from an indirect tax perspective
Proactively monitoring and acting on global indirect tax developments to ensure compliance with changing laws and regulations
