About The Position

Child Development Schools is hiring a Director-in-Training to prepare candidates to become School Directors. The role includes a hands-on, three-month training program with a one-week onsite boot camp in Clayton, North Carolina. Training covers hiring, team-building, budgeting, marketing, and curriculum. Successful completion may lead to an offer for a permanent School Director position. The Director-in-Training helps lead school operations, supports and develops staff, builds relationships with families, welcomes prospective families, maintains a safe and clean school, completes administrative work, and assists with activities such as cooking, cleaning, or classroom support.

Requirements

1–3 years of experience in early childhood education or a similar leadership role.
State-required certification or licensure.
Strong communication skills and care for children, families, and staff.
Ability to multitask across schedules, tasks, and unexpected situations.
Flexibility and willingness to take a hands-on approach and help wherever needed.

Nice To Haves

A CDA, associate degree, or bachelor's degree, preferably in Early Childhood Education or a related field.

Responsibilities

Lead recruitment, train and support staff, and maintain state compliance.
Supervise and inspire the team, manage staffing schedules, and arrange substitutes.
Build positive relationships with families and staff.
Conduct tours for prospective families.
Help keep the school safe and clean.
Handle administrative tasks, including billing, payroll, and records.
Assist with cooking, cleaning, and classroom activities as needed.
