About The Position

We’re looking for a talented and highly collaborative leader with a service-oriented mindset to join our Global HR team as HR Director. In this exciting new opportunity, the HR Director, reporting to Head of HR Global Functions will provide support to our Global Functions and will oversee Global HR Operations for Canada. The role is intended to support execution of Couche-Tard strategies and ensure human resource management aligned with corporate policies, employee relations and development, guidelines and Couche-Tard values. As a key member of the Global HR team, you will act as a strategic advisor to senior leaders, including Corporate Finance and Legal leadership, and will play a critical role in the implementation of global, regional, and local HR initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related field preferred; equivalent combinations of relevant education and experience will be considered
  • Minimum of 8–10 years of relevant HR experience, including experience in a shared services environment
  • Prior experience with labor relations and HR systems (e.g., Workday) preferred
  • Confident HR leader with strong internal HR partnering, consulting, and advisory experience
  • Demonstrated ability to assess organizational needs, manage risk, and act with sound judgment
  • Strong experience handling employee relations, grievance matters, and complex personnel issues
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, and facilitation skills, with the ability to influence and engage audiences at all levels, including executives
  • Service‑oriented mindset with a proactive, “can‑do” attitude
  • Strong ability to build, coordinate, and lead effective teams
  • Comfort working in a technology‑driven environment and high efficiency with Microsoft Office tools
  • Professional maturity with the ability to perform effectively under pressure in a fast‑changing environment
  • Comfortable operating within a large, complex organization
  • Bilingualism required (Advanced French and English) both spoken and written

Responsibilities

  • Partner with leaders to define and execute HR priorities aligned with business strategy, culture, and values
  • Advise senior and executive leadership on global HR matters, including workforce planning, organizational effectiveness, employee relations, and talent development
  • Proactively surface people‑related risks and opportunities, providing clear recommendations
  • Lead HR management for all Global Canadian employees
  • Support managers and employees in resolving complex HR issues
  • Provide guidance on the interpretation and application of HR policies, programs, and guidelines
  • Ensure effective communication and delivery of HR programs and services
  • Collaborate with HR leaders and Centers of Expertise to ensure consistent, high‑quality HR service delivery globally
  • Support and lead change management initiatives, including organizational changes and transformation projects
  • Advise leaders on HR implications, risks, and opportunities related to change
  • Contribute to innovative HR solutions aligned with corporate policies and values
  • Foster an engaging, inclusive work environment focused on strengths‑based leadership and continuous feedback
  • Coach and develop managers to lead in alignment with Couche‑Tard values
  • Support employer branding and recruitment initiatives, including hiring top talent
