About The Position

This role serves as a Senior HR leader for the United States within the Electronics business of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany, and is a member of the Electronics HR Leadership Team. The position leads the HR agenda for an organization of approximately 2,000 employees in the US and manages a team of 5 direct reports. The responsibilities include driving the country people agenda across organization effectiveness, workforce planning, talent, succession, leadership development, employee relations, and change management. The role also acts as a strategic HR partner to senior leaders in the US, ensuring strong alignment between business priorities, country needs, and people strategies. Additionally, it functions as a Global HR Business Partner for one Semiconductor Business Unit, reporting to the Head of HR Semi Solutions. The individual will operate effectively in a matrix environment, balancing country HR leadership responsibilities with global business HRBP accountabilities, and will use data, business insight, and external perspective to shape people decisions and position the organization for future needs. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant HRBP experience.
  • Experience in HR operations and/or a Global HRBP role in a fast-changing and matrix environment is required, ideally in the semiconductor industry.
  • Proven experience leading an HR team and driving the people agenda for a sizeable country or regional organization.
  • Proven experience as a strategic HR partner on organizational design, talent strategy, succession planning, leadership development, and change management.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate successfully in a complex matrix structure, balancing country leadership and global business HRBP responsibilities.
  • Strong understanding of the US business, people environment and labor laws.
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and execution skills in a high-change business setting.
