About The Position

The Director of Health Information Management (HIM) directs, plans, coordinates, and administers health information management services. The role oversees accurate processes for analysis, abstraction, coding, release, retention, scanning, clinical documentation improvement (CDI), chart completion and correction, transcription, data management, medical claims review, and recovery audit contractor oversight. The Director also serves as Privacy Officer, overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of—and adherence to—Community Medical Center’s policies and procedures concerning the privacy of and access to, use, and disclosure of patient health information in compliance with federal and state laws.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required.
Five years of progressively responsible management experience required.
RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator) certification required.

Responsibilities
