Director, GTM Engineering

Tekion•Pleasanton, CA
•$196,500 - $245,500

About The Position

The Director of GTM Engineering is a commercialization architect who builds systems, automation, workflows, and operating models to help Tekion turn product innovation into scalable revenue growth. The role sits between Revenue Operations and Software Engineering and designs, builds, and operates data pipelines, enrichment workflows, AI agent deployments, and automated plays for the go-to-market organization. At Tekion, this role develops and optimizes the campaign engine and other GTM workflows. It defines, deploys, evaluates, and improves AI agent workflows across the GTM organization, including lead enrichment, outbound personalization, campaign quality assurance, call preparation, competitive intelligence, and pipeline analytics. The position builds on Tekion’s platform rather than owning product engineering or platform infrastructure, and enables sellers rather than owning sales execution or quota. The role does not own campaign strategy, messaging, or creative; those belong to the Director of AI Distribution and GTM leads. It also does not own marketing brand, events, or content strategy. The Director of GTM Engineering reports to the SVP of GTM & Growth and is a peer of the Director of AI Distribution. The Bay Area is preferred.

Requirements

  • 5–8 years of experience in GTM operations, revenue operations, growth engineering, or sales operations, with a strong technical and builder orientation.
  • Personally built and shipped automation workflows using tools such as Clay, n8n, Zapier, Workato, or custom scripts; vendor management alone is insufficient.
  • Deep fluency in AI agent frameworks, including prompting, chaining, evaluating, and monitoring agents in production GTM workflows.
  • Strong data engineering instincts and comfort with SQL, API integrations, and data pipelines, as well as working alongside engineering teams without being an engineer.
  • Experience with Salesforce CRM architecture, HubSpot or Marketo marketing automation, and enrichment platforms such as Clay, ZoomInfo, or Apollo.
  • Systems-thinking ability to view GTM as an interconnected machine rather than a collection of point tools.
  • Experience operating in a high-growth B2B SaaS environment where speed of iteration mattered more than perfection.
  • Ability to be the first hire in a new function, define the role and roadmap, and execute independently.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deploy AI agent workflows across GTM, selecting, configuring, and orchestrating agents for lead enrichment, outbound personalization, content generation, campaign QA, and call preparation.
  • Own and optimize the GTM technology stack integration layer across HubSpot, Salesforce, Databricks, Clay, and emerging AI tools.
  • Automate repetitive GTM workflows using agent-driven or rule-based systems that can scale without adding headcount.
  • Evaluate and quality-check deployed agents by monitoring output quality, measuring effects on conversion rates and pipeline velocity, and iterating based on data.
  • Build and maintain data pipeline and enrichment infrastructure that provides GTM teams accurate, real-time account, contact, intent-signal, and competitive-positioning data.
  • Build internal tools and dashboards that provide GTM leadership real-time views of pipeline health, campaign performance, and agent effectiveness.
  • Define the role and roadmap, and execute as the first hire in a new function without waiting for direction.
  • Complete an audit of the GTM technology stack, documenting tools, integration gaps, and automation opportunities.
  • Deploy the first three AI agent workflows into production, such as lead enrichment, outbound personalization, and campaign QA.
  • Quantify time saved through automation and improve enrichment coverage and lead-to-account matching accuracy.
  • Build a dashboard or reporting layer showing agent performance and pipeline health in real time.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation and generous stock options.
  • 100% employer-paid top-of-the-line medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Unlimited PTO, parental leave, and free snacks and beverages.
  • Opportunity to work with experienced professionals from successful Silicon Valley companies.
  • Opportunity to grow with an early-stage, hyper-growth startup.
  • Work with current technologies on systems built in-house from the ground up.
  • Dynamic work environment emphasizing community and collaboration.
  • Open and transparent culture that encourages innovation, rewards performance, and discourages hierarchy.
  • Career growth and development opportunities.
