About The Position

Fidelity's Corporate Services Technology organization is hiring a Director, Engineering for its Westlake regional campus in the DFW Metroplex. This senior engineering and technical leader is accountable for the direction, delivery, and operational excellence of legal technology platforms. The role directly manages software engineers and partners with engineering teams to design, build, integrate, and operate secure, scalable solutions. It works closely with Fidelity Legal leadership, architects, and vendors to support discovery, litigation support, legal operations, and shared services. The Director is expected to shape strategy, ask the right questions, influence architects and business partners, challenge the existing ecosystem when appropriate, and help modernize the Legal organization’s technology landscape. The role directly manages six local engineers and systems analysts and provides technology leadership and strategic direction to an additional team of ten international engineers. It balances strategic planning with hands-on delivery and operational excellence in a large enterprise environment with competing business, technology, security, and compliance needs. The position focuses on delivering reliable Legal technology platforms using modern engineering practices and architectures; improving stability, scalability, and delivery predictability; reducing operational and regulatory risk through secure, well-governed, production-ready systems; and elevating engineering capabilities through mentorship, coaching, and accountability. It enables Legal Strategy, Shared Services, and Corporate Services to pursue their objectives with resilient, scalable, fit-for-purpose technology. Legal domain expertise is a plus. Relevant experience may include eDiscovery, Legal Hold, Matter Management, eBilling, Legal Ops platforms, and legal technology vendors. Fidelity states that it is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased regional and role-based rollout. Current onsite expectations vary, and may evolve; the posting does not specify the onsite requirement for this particular role. Fidelity will not provide immigration sponsorship for this position.
