About The Position

Nimble Gravity is seeking a hands-on engineering leader to build and coach a team of forward deployed engineers and turn ambiguous business problems into working AI systems in production. The Director will lead technical delivery across multiple concurrent client engagements, remain involved in engineering work, and help identify and shape opportunities for follow-on work.

The role combines team leadership, client-facing technical direction, and hands-on engineering. It includes demonstrating Claude Code and Claude Cowork in client environments, guiding work on agentic workflows, tool use, MCP integrations, and evaluation, and developing reusable patterns, accelerators, and playbooks. The Director will collaborate with data, cloud, and digital engineering teams to deliver end-to-end outcomes.

Requirements

• 15+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years leading engineers or technical teams.
• Experience with client-facing delivery in consulting, solutions engineering, or forward deployed work.
• Hands-on experience building with LLMs and agentic patterns, including tool use, RAG, workflow orchestration, and evaluation.
• Strong Python or TypeScript skills, with solid API design, CI/CD, and cloud fundamentals in Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Ability to explain complex technical ideas clearly to executives and engineers.
• A track record of taking ambiguous problems to production.

Nice To Haves

• Hands-on experience with Claude Code, Claude Cowork, the Anthropic API, or the Model Context Protocol.
• Experience with AI governance, security, and responsible-use practices in enterprise settings.
• Background in data science or formal engineering training.
• Experience in a consulting or professional services environment.

Responsibilities

• Hire, coach, and grow forward deployed engineers while setting expectations for technical quality, client communication, and ownership.
• Own scope, quality, timelines, and outcomes across multiple concurrent client engagements.
• Lead client demos, architecture sessions, and delivery workshops demonstrating Claude Code and Claude Cowork in client environments.
• Stay close to the code by prototyping, reviewing designs, and unblocking work on agentic workflows, tool use, MCP integrations, and evaluation.
• Identify expansion opportunities and partner with account leadership to shape and scope them.
• Develop reusable patterns, accelerators, and playbooks for client engagements.
• Collaborate with data, cloud, and digital engineering teams to deliver end-to-end outcomes.
