Director, Fixed Income Electronic Trading Product
About The Position
The Director, Fixed Income Electronic Trading Product will guide a team expanding Fidelity’s proprietary Fixed Income Trading platform, Fidelity Bond Beacon, which is used by thousands of financial advisors across the United States. As product owner, this role serves as the end-to-end gatekeeper of the team’s mission and strategy. The director works with trading desks, compliance, clients, and leadership to prioritize the product feature backlog and deliver best-in-class execution and user-friendly workflows for advisors, traders, and brokers. The role also enables the team to innovate and experiment while balancing risk and reward. The position is part of Fidelity Capital Markets’ Fixed Income Product team, which develops systems used to trade billions of dollars in retail- and advisor-driven fixed income securities. The team values market expertise, initiative, collaboration, diverse opinions, continuous improvement, and quality work.
Requirements
- Experience with electronic trading and fixed income investment markets and workflows, such as treasuries, agencies, mortgages, CDs, municipal bonds, corporate bonds, and/or structured notes.
- Passion for developing leading user experiences that make complex tasks simple.
- Strong aptitude for quantitative finance, statistics, probabilistic risk, and related concepts.
- Highly collaborative and effective communication skills, including the ability to make and defend decisions under uncertainty.
- Software product leadership and program management skills.
- Intellectual curiosity and experience fostering continuous learning, mentoring, and coaching.
- A track record of contributing to high-performing teams.
- Series 07 certification (FINRA).
- Series 63 certification (FINRA).
Responsibilities
- Guide a team in expanding the Fidelity Bond Beacon fixed income trading platform.
- Own the product team’s mission and strategy end to end.
- Work with trading desks, compliance, clients, and leadership to prioritize the product feature backlog.
- Deliver high-quality trade execution and user-friendly workflows for advisors, traders, and brokers.
- Enable product innovation and experimentation while balancing risk and reward.
- Foster continuous learning, including mentoring and coaching.
