About The Position

GreenShield is a not-for-profit social enterprise focused on improving health for all Canadians. They are seeking a Director, Enterprise Transformation and Program Management to lead strategic enterprise programs and initiatives. This role reports to the Senior Vice President, Enterprise Modernization and involves working closely with senior leadership and executives to drive the company's growth and development. The position requires a holistic approach to health, taking care of both mind and body, and emphasizes the importance of employee well-being in achieving the company's mission.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years relevant industry experience, preferably across multiple functional areas.
  • Business transformation and change management experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Program management experience with a demonstrated track record of leadership, problem-solving, and relationship management.
  • MBA or Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Commerce, Finance, or related field.
  • Proactive, accountable, and independent with the ability to develop and execute strategy as well as be hands-on in delivering the mandate and results.
  • Highly developed planning, organizing, and negotiation skills; ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and respond to changing priorities.
  • Strong personal integrity and work ethic; takes responsibility; leads by example, is consistent and makes decisions with the organization’s values in mind.
  • Effective problem solver and can independently navigate through complexity.
  • Outcome-driven, fast, and flexible with demonstrated success translating complex ideas into understandable and common business terminology.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the achievement of strategic enterprise objectives by establishing, communicating, and executing a transformation and program vision that considers key enterprise components (business capabilities, value streams, org structures, operating model, governance, processes, systems, and data).
  • Lead large, complex programs that require specialized discipline, expertise, and execution, and have strategic enterprise importance.
  • Collaborate within a matrix environment to define and manage the portfolio of programs and projects aligned with the organization's strategic priorities.
  • Establish overall program and execution plans, ensuring interdependencies are identified and prioritized, and all accountable teams understand the plan(s) and have clarity about ownership and handoffs.
  • Develop key relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders to ensure programs and plans support the achievement of the strategic vision and identified benefits.
  • Establish and adhere to appropriate governance processes to ensure strategic alignment, continued momentum, and timely decision-making.
  • Highlight program and transformation related risks and issues, support solution development, and track mitigation actions.
  • Communicate to all levels of the organization to ensure buy-in and alignment on the shared vision, and to keep efforts coordinated and prioritized.
  • Report to senior management on program/initiative OKRs and metrics, including progress, milestones, and risks.
  • Regularly stay updated on emerging developments in enterprise transformation, program management, organizational design, and change management to ensure best practices.
  • Facilitate the effective and timely execution and achievement of objectives/results for strategic programs/initiatives.
  • Work closely with senior leadership and executives to develop strategies for initiatives.
  • Ensure strategic alignment, continued momentum, and timely issue resolution and decision-making in relation to the initiative.
  • Provide direction and guidance to project managers and business leads/SMEs assigned to the program/initiative.
  • Prepare senior management and board-facing reports detailing initiative progress, status, KPIs, issues, and risks.
  • Facilitate the governance associated with the initiative.
  • Act as the central point of contact with related external providers, where required.
  • Ensure program deadlines, objectives, and applicable budget(s) are achieved.
