The Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario Research Institute Inc. (“CHEO RI”) is the research arm of the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario – Ottawa Children’s Treatment Centre (“CHEO”) and an affiliated institute of the University of Ottawa. CHEO RI works to create new knowledge and evidence to support CHEO in its provision of world-class care to our children. Our mission at CHEORI is to connect exceptional talent and technology in pursuit of life-changing research for every child, youth and family in our community and beyond. The Eating Disorders Discoveries Hub (the Hub) is a unit within CHEO RI that collaborates with clinicians, young people, families, policymakers and thought leaders to drive an evidence-based, integrated system of care for children, youth and families affected by eating disorders across Canada. Our work at the Hub focuses on engaged scholarship, advancing innovation, and co-designing systems and solutions with service providers and service users. As trusted leaders in the field, we: Generate and mobilize high quality research on eating disorders care for children and young people in Canada. Evaluate and translate this knowledge to inform policy and system transformation efforts across the country. Partner with key interest-holders to innovate and co-build discoveries that can improve the lives of those affected by pediatric eating disorders. The Hub at CHEO RI has an immediate requirement for a Director, Research. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to collaborate with leaders and team members at the Hub. The Director will provide leadership for various research and knowledge mobilization (KMb) activities at the Hub. The incumbent will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Hub’s research projects and initiatives. This role will identify strategic priorities and key activities at the Hub and will be accountable for the leadership and management of team members working on the range of projects and initiatives. The Director, will work closely with the other Director(s), the Executive Director, and the Manager, Operations to provide overall leadership to the Hub team. The incumbent will engage with relevant staff in strategic and operational planning, and will maintain a program of research in the field of pediatric eating disorders. The ideal candidate is an energetic multi-tasker, a strong project manager, a creative thinker, an excellent collaborator and a superior writer. This role is an integral part of the Hub team, and requires that the incumbent shows integrity, professionalism and dedication in their work and interactions with colleagues and partners.
