About The Position

The Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario Research Institute Inc. (“CHEO RI”) is the research arm of the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario – Ottawa Children’s Treatment Centre (“CHEO”) and an affiliated institute of the University of Ottawa. CHEO RI has an immediate requirement for a casual Research Assistant. Our research team brings together clinicians and scientists with specialized expertise in pediatric brain injury, neuropsychology, and recovery science. Our research agenda is centred on three key pillars: advancing evidence‑based approaches to concussion assessment, improving our understanding of the biological, cognitive, and psychosocial factors that influence recovery, and enhancing clinical care pathways for children and youth following head injury. The Clinical Research Assistant will assist the research team in the day-to-day activities involved in the conduct of research including, but not limited to, the creation and maintenance of research files according to study guidelines, the collection, scoring and coding of research information, patient recruitment including screening and obtaining informed consents, processing of lab samples.
