Dir, Demand Generation & Content Marketing

Whip Networks, Inc.Santa Monica, CA
$150,000 - $160,000Hybrid

About The Position

Whip Media is seeking a Director, Demand Generation & Content Marketing to create a consistent pipeline of qualified enterprise opportunities for their Helix platform. This role requires a deep understanding of the media and entertainment industry's complex workflows, including rights, avails, partner data, content distribution, and revenue management. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between marketing, sales, and product, developing targeted campaigns and content that resonate with specific buyer problems and drive engagement. The goal is to generate qualified pipeline by clearly communicating the value of Helix to target accounts and buyers, updating market perception of the company, and supporting the sales process from initial contact to close.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of B2B demand generation experience, preferably in enterprise SaaS, media technology, data, workflow software, or complex solution sales.
  • Proven track record of creating qualified pipeline, with the ability to discuss pipeline dollars, spend, conversion rates, sales cycle, and personal contributions.
  • Direct experience building demand programs, not just managing agencies or reviewing dashboards.
  • Experience in enterprise or complex solution sales environments with a focus on a limited number of carefully selected accounts.
  • Strong understanding of accounts and buying groups, distinguishing between users, influencers, budget owners, and executive sponsors.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to produce effective copy and identify weak or derivative content.
  • Ability to translate complex product details (e.g., mapping logic, validation, timelines) into clear buyer stories without oversimplification.
  • Strong analytical judgment, using data for decision-making, understanding attribution limitations, and explaining measurement reasoning.
  • Proficiency working directly in HubSpot or a comparable CRM and marketing automation platform.
  • AI proficiency, with sound judgment on the benefits and risks of AI tools and the ability to verify output.
  • Curiosity about media and entertainment economics and operations, with a willingness to learn.
  • High ownership mentality and low ego, with strong collaboration skills across functions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in media and entertainment, streaming, content licensing, ad tech, rights management, royalties, or entertainment technology.
  • Direct exposure to rights, licensing, avails, royalties, partner payments, content operations, or revenue operations.
  • Experience building marketing programs around named enterprise accounts.
  • Experience leveraging industry events, partnerships, or joint marketing for account engagement and pipeline generation.
  • Experience in a growing company requiring system building rather than inheriting existing structures.

Responsibilities

  • Own demand generation for Helix across priority segments, geographies, and named accounts, collaborating with Sales to identify high-potential areas.
  • Build campaigns focused on specific customer workflows such as partner files and mapping, rights windows and avails, onboarding, validation, auditability, and revenue reporting.
  • Map buying groups within target organizations, understanding roles in workflow usage, problem ownership, budget control, and sponsorship.
  • Tailor account plans and messaging to specific buyer needs, differentiating between evaluations for rights and avails versus partner data or platform migration.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales to secure the right buyer groups, enhance post-meeting activities, and support progression through the sales funnel (workshop, evaluation, proposal, close).
  • Educate the market on current Helix capabilities, using product proof, customer evidence, and workflow examples to update older perceptions of Whip Media.
  • Create and edit content, including customer stories, practical explainers, industry analysis, event content, and executive pieces, focused on rights, licensing, finance, and content operations.
  • Translate product details into buyer-centric language, connecting technical aspects to tangible business outcomes like faster onboarding, reduced engineering dependency, and improved reporting confidence.
  • Develop account plans aligned with the industry calendar (e.g., NAB, StreamTV, IBC), integrating event participation and follow-up into broader campaigns.
  • Manage measurement in HubSpot, tracking account engagement, conversion rates through the funnel, and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Utilize AI for research, segmentation, personalization, and analysis, ensuring accuracy and specificity.
  • Selectively engage outside specialists for expertise or capacity while maintaining internal ownership of account logic, messaging, and performance.
