Johnson & Johnson MedTech – Supply Chain is recruiting for a Director, Deliver Excellence Americas, MedTech Supply Chain. This hybrid position is located in Raritan, NJ. The Director Deliver Excellence Americas is accountable for defining, standardizing, and continuously improving Deliver distribution capabilities through the deployment of the J&J Operational System, proven practices, and disciplined execution models across US and LATAM. This role serves as a bridge between strategy and operations, ensuring that distribution processes, performance management, partner governance, and enabling technologies are consistently designed and effectively executed across markets. The position drives capability maturity, operational consistency, and value realization, enabling Deliver to progress along the Supply Chain Gartner maturity curve while improving customer experience, service reliability, and financial performance. A critical component of the role is partner and ecosystem management, including the establishment of clear governance, performance standards, and continuous improvement mechanisms for 3PLs and external service providers. The Distribution Excellence Lead ensures that internal teams and partners operate under a single set of standards, metrics, and ways of working, while enabling local execution within defined guardrails. Through strong cross-functional collaboration, data-driven insights, and portfolio discipline, the role shapes how Deliver operates today and builds the capabilities required for scalable, compliant, and future-ready distribution operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Significant experience in Supply Chain, Distribution, Logistics, or Operations Excellence, including exposure to Business Excellence / BPO environments.
  • Proven experience in process standardization, continuous improvement, or JJOS/Lean deployment.
  • Experience leading or supporting cross-functional transformation programs, portfolio management, or large-scale initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience working with external partners (e.g., 3PLs, service providers), including performance governance and continuous improvement.
  • Exposure to analytics, digital, or data-driven decision-making environments within Supply Chain.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and sustain the J&J Operational System (JJOS) and a robust set of proven practices and standardized processes that define how Deliver operates.
  • Identify Deliver capability gaps and establish action plans to drive process consistency, standard work, and operational discipline across markets.
  • Drive measurable improvements in service, cost, quality, and reliability through the evolution of Deliver maturity along the Supply Chain Gartner maturity curve.
  • Define critical capabilities in strategic areas and lead the capability build-up roadmap, ensuring alignment between global standards and local execution.
  • Ensure consistency across markets in terms of process design, governance, and ways of working, while enabling effective local adoption.
  • Define and maintain the distribution technology and automation roadmap, aligned with Deliver and E2E Supply Chain strategy.
  • Build technical capabilities to support customer service, efficiency, scalability, and compliance through engineering solutions, systems, and automation.
  • Partner with IT, Engineering, and Operations to translate business needs into deployable, value-adding solutions.
  • Develop, implement, and manage Deliver portfolio management processes, governance, and tools to translate strategy into executable initiatives.
  • Own preparation, execution, and continuous monitoring of the Deliver P&L, including Business Plan, June & November Updates, and Latest Thinking cycles.
  • Assess portfolio performance to identify risks and gaps, working with initiative sponsors to define holistic mitigation plans and ensure delivery of commitments.
  • Design and deploy performance management frameworks, KPIs, and governance routines to track Deliver performance and drive accountability.
  • Ensure performance insights are consistently used to guide prioritization, continuous improvement, and leadership decision-making.
  • Embed fact-based management and standardized performance routines across Deliver organizations.
  • Drive disciplined portfolio and project management practices, including FPX methodology, prioritization, resource modeling, financial tracking, and reporting.
  • Assess project performance, identify risks, and partner with sponsors to remove barriers and ensure delivery of project outcomes.
  • Develop talent and ensure the Deliver organization demonstrates functional excellence and future-ready capabilities, including digital and analytics skills.
  • Own and implement the people strategy for Deliver within the region, building diverse, high-performance teams with strong engagement and accountability.
  • Actively sponsor and mentor key talent across the E2E Supply Chain.
  • Influence and lead without authority across extended teams and partner functions (Quality, Finance, HR, IT), as well as GDEx, Global Transportation, and other E2E SC partners.
  • Promote a clear vision and drive change through strong communication and stakeholder engagement.
