The Director, Data Content Acquisition role is responsible for managing the entire acquisition process, from initial contact to contract execution and content delivery. This includes leading commercial negotiations with third-party exchange and content providers, managing source selection, internal communication, contractual review, and internal processes. The role involves negotiating optimal terms considering both creative and commercial aspects with data providers to support internal and commercial use cases. A key aspect is maintaining relationships between SPDJI and its exchange partners, content providers, and other market data and subscription vendors. The position also promotes best practices globally, identifies opportunities to optimize and leverage data sources across the organization, and ensures adherence to guidelines and standards. Analyzing data rights and communicating risks or obligations associated with vendor agreements related to SPDJI’s custom and branded indices is crucial. The role requires managing global data rights, reviewing agreements for legal and financial obligations, and informing stakeholders of any nuances or vendor restrictions. Creating vendor summaries for high-profile/strategic vendor relationships and maintaining accurate documentation for all vendor relationships and related contracts are also key responsibilities. Updating internal systems, conducting gap analysis reviews to highlight potential risk exposure, and performing vendor risk assessments, vendor performance scorecards, and other internal risk mitigation processes are part of the role. Additionally, the position assists with regulatory compliance exercises and vendor audits.
