The Content Acquisition Specialist will oversee the strategic direction of special content and develop and maintain a healthy pipeline of ideas and ongoing projects by working closely with Editors, Publishers, and other Content Acquisition Specialists/Managers internally and with external editors and top researchers in different subject areas. This role is fundamental to ensuring and driving content growth within the respective portfolios. Additionally, the Content Acquisition Specialist also: Increases journal visibility through social media promotion, conference activities, virtual events and webinars May track and escalate other journal-related performance issues (ethical issues, Guest Editor performance) The Content Acquisition Specialist has experience with commissioning, understands the business, and is comfortable working across various subject areas areas, with the ability to commission at scale. They are involved in commissioning strategy, but can also identify opportunities and share leads with EiCs, Publishers, and other members in Strategic Content Acquisition team. They have a good knowledge beyond their SME and a basic network across several subjects and work with other teams to develop workflows and tools for at-scale commissioning.
