About The Position

The Director, Crude Oil & Finished Products, will oversee all Delek Logistics Midstream technical support and regulatory compliance functions. This individual will be charged with leading and motivating their team, ensuring continuity of standards and processes, understanding of risk, and the ability to effectively execute with the highest standards of efficiency, safety, and productivity. We are looking for a Director, Crude Oil & Finished Products with leadership skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to anticipate and challenge situations, critical thinking skills, problem solving skills, and the ability to develop economic and marginal analysis for sound decisions. The successful candidate must be able to multi-task, prioritize, and make decisions quickly and effectively. This individual will be comfortable working in an environment of uncertainty and change, constantly seeking to drive value for the organization based on the changing landscape. With an eye towards safety, cost control, and value creation, the Director, Crude Oil & Finished Products will be responsible for the day-to-day management, oversight and direct accountability for the technical disciplines related to effectively managing operational excellence in the Company. The Director, Crude Oil & Finished Products will be based in Dallas, TX with leadership responsibility for 5-7 direct reports with approximately 40 – 50 indirect reports.

Requirements

  • Minimum undergraduate degree in engineering or other closely related fields.
  • Minimum 10 years’ strong proven experience in midstream technical, operations and/or other management and technical roles associated in midstream operations or Oil & Gas Industry.
  • Thorough knowledge of regulatory requirements, operating excellence best practices and commercial practices for downstream and/or Oil & Gas Industry.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in engineering, business administration or other closely related fields.
  • Professional Engineering Licensure or any related license.
  • Experience in M&A, integration and asset disposal, corporate and large project governance, value chain and portfolio management and optimization, regulatory risk management oversight and policy.
  • Experience with change management, organizational excellence & innovation initiatives and management turnarounds.

  • Provide advice, guidance and leadership direction to subordinates to ensure proper execution of major projects and initiatives.
  • Lead the Technical Department employees, including Engineers, Loss Prevention, Regulatory Affairs & Compliance, and non-routine maintenance crafts by providing technical guidance, leadership, and prioritization of projects.
  • Provide guidance on the interpretation of operating asset data, monitor asset performance, recommends asset operating guidelines, and estimates remaining maintenance and compliance requirements.
  • Be instrumental in the operation of excellence and work with other departments to develop and drive the progress of asset health monitoring philosophy, tools, and cadence.
  • Identify and ensure the development of succession candidates for critical leadership roles and other key management within the organization.
  • Maintain the organization’s ongoing relationships with regulatory commissions/authorities.
  • Coordinate and conduct assessments of internal controls to ensure compliance as required by regulatory commissions/authorities.
  • Develop programs and processes to manage compliance cases brought to regulatory authorities and develop process improvements to avoid future complaints.
  • Prepare and sponsor testimony to government or regulatory agencies.
  • Conduct regular performance review feedback, including but not limited to, the annual formal review process.
  • Provide ongoing positive constructive feedback and assure accountability for ongoing operational improvements.
  • Monitor and analyze operating results on an ongoing basis and ensure that excellent performance is maintained.
  • Regularly visit all sites and monitor for successful performance.
  • Drive profitability and results through operational efficiency, proper workforce and asset planning and best industry practices across all business units.
  • Develop and implement investment and operational strategies including infrastructure, equipment, technology, capital, maintenance, and personnel resources.
  • Adhere to all corporate policies and standards including but not limited to environmental and regulatory, human resources, facility, equipment, operations and maintenance.
  • Perform special tasks that may be assigned which will contribute to the achievement of the Company’s strategic objectives.
