About the position
The Director, Corporate Development & Investments is responsible for recommending and evaluating investment and acquisition opportunities to grow the company inorganically. They will work closely with NCSOFT West leadership and HQ to ensure successful execution of the corporate development strategy. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape and deliver on NCSOFT's global strategic priorities, both within and outside of the gaming sector.
Responsibilities
- Conduct rigorous financial modeling to evaluate target companies based on various business scenarios
- Conduct valuation work to assess attractiveness of proposed target companies, including payback period and ROI analysis
- Support on-the-ground ideation and sourcing of investment opportunities that align with the corporate development strategy
- Establish and expand relationships with industry counterparts and network
- Support research into macro and micro level themes to assess attractiveness of target companies or proposed deals
- Support and lead commercial due diligence, as well as coordinating other forms of due diligence such as tax, legal, and financial due diligence
- Propose deal terms and structure based on analysis
- Write investment memos and presentations to support senior management decision making
- Lead and support deal negotiations, including review of legal documentations
- Passion for video games
- Strong understanding of financial modeling, valuation, and financial analytics
- Strategic and entrepreneurial mindset
- Understanding and experience in reviewing and drafting IOIs, term sheets, and other forms of M&A related legal documentation, as well as proven ability to identify, analyze, and structure various deal types across M&A, JVs, project financing, and/or publishing agreements
- Strong communication skills in managing expectations and communication across different time zones and up and down the organization
