About the position
We are seeking a Linux Systems Engineer to join our team and contribute to the creation of a cloud-based infrastructure to support our company's operations and game development. In this role, you will utilize Linux to support game services and server hosting, with a focus on automation and deployment using Docker. Additionally, you will be involved in migrating development infrastructure to Linux on AWS, improving overall company infrastructure, and participating in an on-call rotation. We are looking for someone who is approachable, knowledgeable, and passionate about maintaining performance and high coding standards.
Responsibilities
- Utilize Linux to support hosting game services and the game server
- Automate scaling and use Docker for packaging and deployment
- Assist in migrating development infrastructure to Linux on AWS
- Work on automation for non-game services such as the build system
- Improve overall company infrastructure
- Participate in an on-call rotation
- Maintain performance, high coding standards, and efficient code architecture
- Work to keep tech debt under control
- Help develop and evolve good practices for workflow improvement
- Plan, estimate, and communicate effectively for achieving project goals
- Linux systems administration
- Experience with a configuration management system, preferably Salt
- Experience with a cloud hosting provider
