About the position
We are looking for a Creative Director (Head of Content) to join our team at Tucows. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of content and design specialists to produce copy, creative assets, and web content for our Domains Services' line of business. You will collaborate with various teams across the company to deliver quality communications and develop engagement strategies. Additionally, you will be involved in brand strategy and implementation, ensuring that our communications consistently reflect our brand. This role requires strong copywriting experience, leadership skills, and a deep understanding of digital experiences and design principles.
Responsibilities
- Managing the entire content creation lifecycle, including strategy, copywriting, creative, management, measurement, reporting, and optimization.
- Working directly with the VP of Marketing on the brand strategy and implementation.
- Developing concepts and writing for a wide range of content formats (web pages, display ads, blog posts, social posts, video scripts, postcards, etc.).
- Developing engagement strategies and frameworks for various projects, partners, resellers, and customers.
- Advising the team on creating the best digital experience for customers and representing the evolving brand.
- Ensuring consistent reflection of the brand in all communications and creative to customers.
- Providing constructive feedback, editorial guidance, and design critique to other members of the content team.
- Writing and editing copy, particularly for digital formats.
- Tracking, monitoring, and reporting on content performance.
- Project managing content lifecycle, content marketing initiatives, and other programs.
- Leading a team of copywriters, content specialists, and designers.
- Demonstrating great content strategy, content marketing, SEO, design principles, and design research skills.
- Mastering digital/UX writing and UI design as a 'digital-first' brand.
- Having a deep understanding of web experiences and web standards across different digital platforms and devices.
- Presenting ideas effectively to a diverse group of partners.
- Showcasing understanding of marketing strategy, brand strategy, design-thinking, campaign messaging, etc. through a portfolio.
- Familiarity with Hubspot, Asana, and Figma is a bonus.
Requirements
- 10+ years of copywriting experience in either an agency or in-house team
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, creative advertising, communications, or equivalent working experience
- Experience leading a team of copywriters, content specialists, and designers
- Great content strategy, content marketing, SEO, design principles, and design research skills
- Mastery of digital/UX writing and UI design as a 'digital-first' brand
- Deep understanding of web experiences and web standards across different digital platforms and devices
- Excellent presentation skills
- Portfolio showcasing understanding of marketing strategy, brand strategy, design-thinking, campaign messaging, etc.
- Previous experience with Hubspot, Asana, and Figma is a welcome bonus
