About The Position

The Director, Competitive Readiness & Strategic Operations is the primary owner of competitive strategy across Pfizer’s global obesity franchise. The role translates competitive intelligence into prioritized strategic insights for Pfizer’s obesity portfolio, working with commercial product leads, regions, and cross-functional partners to interpret market changes and support sustained portfolio differentiation. Its emphasis is on disciplined interpretation and strategic implications—not simply synthesizing or disseminating information—including implications for category strategy, portfolio choices, and asset-level decisions. As a key member of the Obesity Global Commercial Development team, the director operates with a high degree of independence and generates timely second- and third-order insights. The role partners with the Strategy & Operations Lead to build and manage a commercial development strategic roadmap, convene the right people and information, and address challenging strategic questions in a fast-moving market. It requires the ability to engage across R&D, clinical development, business development, and commercial strategy, shifting between asset-level detail and portfolio-level perspective. The position scans the external market with Competitive Intelligence, interprets developments across regulatory, reimbursement, clinical guideline, pricing, and policy environments, and translates emerging information into strategic implications. It pressure-tests asset and portfolio strategies, surfaces gaps and opportunities, prepares executive-ready materials, and helps plan strategy-focused offsites and a roadmap for resolving key questions. The role is hybrid and is posted in multiple locations. The stated U.S. annual base salary range is $162,900 to $271,500, with eligibility for a 20% target bonus and a share-based long-term incentive program. Relocation assistance may be available based on business needs and/or eligibility.
