About The Position

Madrigal is a biopharmaceutical company focused on delivering novel therapeutics for metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH), a serious liver disease that can progress to cirrhosis, liver failure, need for liver transplantation and premature mortality. Every member of our Madrigal team is connected by our shared purpose: leading the fight against MASH. Madrigal’s medication, Rezdiffra (resmetirom), is a once-daily, oral, liver-directed THR-β agonist designed to target key underlying causes of MASH. Rezdiffra is the first and only medication approved by both the FDA and European Commission for the treatment of MASH with moderate to advanced fibrosis (F2 to F3). An ongoing Phase 3 outcomes trial is evaluating Rezdiffra for the treatment of compensated MASH cirrhosis (F4c). Our success is driven by our people. The Director, Commercial Development, will be a critical member of the US Marketing and Commercial organizations who will help build the future of Madrigal. This is truly a unique opportunity to make a difference for the betterment of patients living with MASH. This individual will be responsible for representing the global commercial perspective across the Madrigal pipeline, ensuring development, commercialization strategy, and launch planning reflect and are fully aligned to commercial priorities. This role serves as a key stakeholder interfacing with study and program teams, providing strategic guidance on target product profiles (TPP), market positioning, clinical development prioritization, and commercial readiness to maximize portfolio value. The Director will work cross-functionally with RD, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Commercial Strategy and Regulatory to shape the development path and commercialization strategy. The role requires deep expertise in specialty pharma market dynamics, competitive intelligence, payer landscape, and commercial strategy, to provide insightful feedback and inform global decisions from early development through launch and lifecycle management.

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Candidate must have 12-15+ years of biopharmaceutical marketing and/or commercial development experience
  • Must have direct commercial development experience working on assets across the product lifecycle, in particular, from pre-commercialization to launch

Responsibilities

  • Provide commercial input on indication prioritization, endpoints, comparator strategy, and trial design.
  • Identify label-optimizing opportunities and evidence needs to support global approval, access and adoption.
  • Support market landscape and market research analyses: epidemiology, treatment pathways, competitive pipelines and emerging modalities.
  • Partner with Commercial Strategy & Operations, Medical Affairs and Thought Leadership to surface signals that drive strategic shifts.
  • Collaborate on revenue forecasting, scenario planning and pricing/market uptake assumptions.
  • Inform investment, launch sequencing and lifecycle decisions with commercial assessments.
  • Support cross-functional commercialization planning with Sales, Marketing, Market Access, Patient Access, Thought Leadership, Communications and Medical Affairs for coordinated launch readiness and market shaping.
  • This role ensures the product is developed and positioned to achieve maximum clinical adoption and commercial success in the U.S. market by embedding U.S. evidence, access and commercialization needs into global development and launch decisions.
