We are seeking a strong leader in San Jose to lead cloud service operations in North America, drive cloud infrastructure implementations, serve as the primary point of contact for production issue escalations and resolution, and ensure adherence to security and compliance standards. Requirements

  • BS level technical degree required; Computer Science or Engineering background preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in a CloudOps / DevOps role and 5+ years of experience in a manager role.
  • An ability to drive to big picture goals while valuing and maintaining a strong attention to detail.
  • Experience architecting infrastructure for highly available, highly scalable cloud services.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS or any public cloud (Azure, GCP etc).
  • Knowledge of Linux, security, and networking fundamentals.
  • Working knowledge of container-based architecture and deployment (Docker, Kubernetes.)
  • Working knowledge of deployment automation development (Ansible, Terraform, Helm).
  • Experience in diagnosing and resolving complex application problems.
  • Working knowledge of Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL, Redis, Ignite and RabbitMQ.
  • Experience with monitoring tools (Nagios, Kibana, Prometheus)
  • Experience with cloud security and compliance implementation.
  • Strong sense of personal responsibility and accountability for delivering high quality work, both personally and at a team level.
  • Comfortable working within a distributed team located in multiple time zones.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Cloud Operations teams across North America, including the U.S. and Canada, ensuring reliable and efficient operations of production cloud services.
  • Drive cloud infrastructure implementation and optimization across AWS, GCP, and Azure, with a focus on reliability, scalability, security, performance, and cost efficiency.
  • Design and implement secure cloud networking solutions across multi-cloud environments, including connectivity, traffic management, load balancing, and network security.
  • Manage and optimize critical middleware and data services, including PostgreSQL, Apache Ignite, Redis, Elasticsearch, Flink, ClickHouse, RabbitMQ, and Kafka.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for production issues, driving timely resolution, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Lead the resolution of customer-reported issues and production incidents in close collaboration with Support, Development, QA, and other engineering teams.
  • Ensure production cloud environments meet security and compliance requirements, including ISO 27001, ISO 27017, ISO 27018, ISO 27701, SOC 2, StateRAMP, and FedRAMP.
  • Review new service designs and production deployments to ensure operational readiness, scalability, reliability, security, and compliance before production deployment.
  • Analyze service performance and capacity, identify bottlenecks and operational risks, and drive improvement plans.
  • Improve service availability, scalability, observability, and operational efficiency through automation, tooling, and process improvements.
  • Build and scale the Cloud Operations organization by developing domain experts, strengthening technical capabilities, mentoring engineers, and developing future leaders.
  • Foster strong cross-functional and cross-regional collaboration to maintain consistent operational excellence and 24/7 support across global time zones.
