About The Position

Smartsheet is seeking an experienced Director of Industry Analyst Relations to lead its global analyst relations program. This strategic role involves nurturing analyst relationships, providing exceptional research support, and leading a team. The ideal candidate will have a proven history of leading AR functions, achieving top positions in major research reports, and building strong connections with analysts, executives, product strategy, and marketing leaders. The role requires a creative and innovative approach to engage and influence analysts in both existing and emerging markets, given Smartsheet's high-growth and diverse business. This position is ideal for someone passionate about technology, continuous learning, team leadership, and making a significant impact.

Requirements

  • 10-15+ years of experience in analyst relations at a technology company, preferably with SaaS experience.
  • Understanding of key enterprise technologies and their transformative impact on the world.
  • Proven track record of positioning technology companies as leaders in major analyst research.
  • Consistent success in leading and executing analyst relations programs and building collaborative relationships with influential analysts, executive leadership, and cross-functional partners.
  • Proficiency in leveraging AI-enabled tools to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and improve the quality and efficiency of AR operations.
  • Experience in assessing and implementing strategies and programs, and supporting recommendations with rationale and data.
  • Executive presence and interpersonal skills, with the ability to persuade and motivate at all organizational levels and with analyst stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an outstanding ability to translate technology features into business outcomes.
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to develop compelling narratives grounded in data and facts.
  • Strong project management and relationship management skills.
  • Strong mentoring and leadership skills to build and encourage a high-performing and highly motivated team.
  • Relationship-driven with experience building successful senior-level relationships, both internally and externally.
  • Ambition, drive, and commitment to achieving great results, including a constant desire to evolve the AR program and understand/develop best practices.
  • Bias for action; willingness to help others, tackle new responsibilities, and take pride in elevating the program.
  • Ability to cover West Coast hours to support the team based at the corporate headquarters in WA.
  • BA or BS degree.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the execution of Smartsheet's global analyst relations strategy to support go-to-market strategies and key business and product initiatives.
  • Develop Smartsheet's analyst-facing narrative to influence market perception based on vision, strategy, and competitive differentiators.
  • Collaborate with Smartsheet teams at all organizational levels to articulate and support a narrative that connects technology trends, roadmap planning, use cases, and markets.
  • Drive the strategy and execution of analyst engagements, including inquiries/briefings, advisory days, event sponsorships, and analyst roadshows.
  • Oversee the measurement and business reviews of the AR program's impact, providing regular reports to Smartsheet leadership.
  • Partner with product, sales, and marketing teams to drive the creation, promotion, and enablement of AR content.
  • Refine processes and workflows to continuously improve daily AR operations.
  • Manage analyst contracts and relationships.
  • Support other duties as assigned.
