About The Position

As the Director of Americas I&C Projects, you will lead the portfolio of Westinghouse I&C projects and programs being executed in support of the operating fleet of plants in the United States. You will ensure on-time delivery of projects in a safe, high-quality, profitable manner, leading to customer satisfaction. This will include personnel-management responsibilities in addition to overall programmatic oversight. You will report to the Senior Director, Americas ICS.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering, Project Management, Business or related field.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in leading large, complex I&C (or other engineering, procurement, and construction) projects in the nuclear industry.
  • Familiar with the Project Management Institute (PMI®)'s Project Management Body of Knowledge required.
  • Increasing levels of demonstrated project management skills and track-record of success with cost, risk, and schedule control.
  • Ability to travel to customer sites and industry meetings (~10% travel)

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or other advanced degree preferred
  • PMI Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification or other approved equivalent project management certification is desired or otherwise required to be completed within 1 year.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction to program management personnel to ensure compliance with all contractual commitments, meet customer needs, and optimize both short- and long-term profitability for Westinghouse
  • Develop and implement formal, rigorous, and disciplined project management processes to improve project performance and enhance consistency in execution.
  • Prioritize event-free and error-free execution. Measure project success through established KPIs; including customer feedback, on-time performance, and financial health (MAD>MAS).
  • Coordinate lessons learned sharing to benefit overall program performance.
  • Act as primary escalation point for program issues.
  • Identify, assess, and implement improvement or recovery opportunities as necessary that will promote successful project delivery.
  • Provide senior management with up-to-date and accurate reports of project status.
  • Support Americas ICS P&L leader to achieve business objectives; leveraging EAC management, risk-mitigation, contract change management (upselling), and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Drive integration of all aspects of program including scope, schedule, cost, risk, procurement, quality, resources, communications, and stakeholders.
  • Monitor and review all aspects of established project planning processes per the Westinghouse Project Management Requirements (WPMR).
  • Establish rigorous and disciplined project communications format ensuring team, customer, and all stakeholders are kept informed of status.
  • Collaborate with Contract Managers to interpret requirements and proactively manage changes.
  • Identify opportunities for additional business growth.
  • Interface with I&C Engineering and Manufacturing leadership (engineering, resource, and supply chain management teams) to forecast needs and resolve gaps in support.
  • Support Americas ICS customer solutions and sales organizations to formulate execution strategies, schedules, and cost-estimates, including risk registers, for new project phases.
  • Support and/or drive customer negotiations.
  • Oversee accurate forecasts for financial performance, backlog resource demand, and hardware/manufacturing demand.
  • Utilize levers available, such as EAC management, risk mitigation, acceleration, and cost reduction initiatives, to maximize both short- and long-term profitability.
  • Maintain good working relationships with various stakeholders including project team, external customers, vendors, internal partners, and Westinghouse leadership.
  • Manage performance of direct reports; evaluate and adjust staffing levels as appropriate
  • Make job assignments and direct efforts of personnel (both direct and indirect reports); up to decisions to replace/supplement personnel to maintain organizational excellence.
  • Evaluate and effectively elevate the competency and talent management of project management personnel.
