About The Position

SIXT is seeking a Director of AI & Automation Fleet Operations to identify opportunities for AI-driven automation across its large global vehicle fleet. The role works closely with Fleet Operations and Engineering to understand operational decision-making, design and build agentic solutions for real workflows, and shape the platforms, tools, and architecture needed to scale automation over the long term. The position is based in Pullach near Munich and follows a hybrid working model with flexible hours.

The successful candidate brings hands-on agentic AI experience and can take systems beyond prototypes into robust real-world operation. They will translate operational challenges into actionable technical briefs for Data Science and Engineering, and help set Fleet Operations’ technical direction with a strong business perspective.

Requirements

• Experience building agentic AI systems that take actions and are robust in real-world settings, bridging prototypes and production use.
• Understanding of the complexities of mobility, logistics, or supply chain operations.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Confidence working with LLM calls, agent frameworks, and data pipelines.
• Ability to produce maintainable, high-quality code.
• Fluent English.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of German.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Fleet Operations teams to understand decision-making across the value chain and identify where AI can create value.
• Translate operational insights into concrete automation initiatives.
• Build robust, multi-step AI agent systems that operate autonomously within real operational workflows.
• Use modern AI-assisted development tools and work with software engineering to turn solutions into durable systems.
• Influence platforms, tools, and system architecture to shape the technical direction of Fleet Operations.
• Translate operational challenges into clear technical briefs for Data Science and Engineering teams.
