Director, Addiction Recovery Services
About The Position
The Director, Addiction Recovery Services provides leadership for addiction recovery and substance use programs across the Central and East Regions. The position oversees identified program and service operations, advances strategic initiatives and performance goals, and is accountable for operational performance across the full continuum of care, including quality, accessibility, cost effectiveness, and patient focus. The Director partners with dyad physician leaders and the VP of Behavioral Health and collaborates with leaders of hospital-based behavioral health units to support inpatient care and clinical program performance. The role participates in implementing the behavioral health strategic plan and developing operational plans that support behavioral health growth and program development. The Director leads managers, staff, and physicians in establishing operational processes to achieve quality metrics, physician and staff engagement, patient experience, growth, and budgetary goals.
Requirements
- Master's degree in a related field, social work, or nursing.
- Experience in program development, implementation, and operational oversight in a complex healthcare system.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Strong systems assessment and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret and assimilate clinical and business information from varied internal and external sources, communicate with providers, staff, and administrators, and evaluate achievement of metrics.
- Ability to lead physicians, clinicians, administrators, and staff.
- Demonstrated leadership, independence, responsibility, accountability, and good judgment.
- Ability to think strategically.
- Strong organizational skills to coordinate and manage multiple activities simultaneously.
- Ability to plan and facilitate meetings, delegate, hold people accountable for performance and deadlines, and determine priorities and critical-path items.

Responsibilities
- Provide leadership for substance use services in assigned regions.
- Facilitate addiction recovery strategic initiatives in collaboration with leadership.
- Analyze industry trends to identify operational and programmatic needs.
- Lead strategic and tactical program planning, implementation, and evaluation for addiction services within the area of responsibility.
- Take an active role in day-to-day service delivery operations.
- Work with leaders and teams to adopt quality initiatives and manage program growth.
- Develop, analyze, and manage capital and operational budgets within organizational expectations.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations affecting patient care services.
- Support integration of patient care standards and practice with clinical programs, collaborating with leadership, physicians, and other disciplines.
- Manage budgets and expenses within areas of responsibility.
- Apply financial analysis, pro forma development, capital planning, and economic considerations.
- Collaborate with leadership to achieve financial goals.
- Collaborate with hospital-based behavioral health unit leaders to support inpatient care and clinical program performance.
- Participate in implementation of the behavioral health strategic plan and operational plans for behavioral health growth and program development.
- Lead managers, staff, and physicians in achieving quality metrics, engagement, patient experience, growth, and budgetary targets.
