About The Position

Gurit is a global leader in composite materials. Its Magog subsidiary specializes in the manufacture of structural foams primarily for the marine sector. We are currently looking for a temporary Human Resources Director to join a dedicated team and play a central role on a daily basis!

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial relations or business administration, with a concentration in human resources.
  • Approximately 7 years of experience in human resources management as a generalist in a unionized environment.
  • Mastery of spoken and written French and good knowledge of spoken and written English.
  • Computer skills (Office Suite).
  • Knowledge of HR standards and laws.
  • Knowledge of Canadian laws.
  • Ability to plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Good time and priority management.
  • Analytical profile and autonomy.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate the activities of the personnel and human resources department of the plant.
  • Plan human resource needs in conjunction with the directors of the various departments.
  • Lead the training process and ensure its implementation. Also lead the training activities of non-unionized employees and request grants from government agencies.
  • Develop and implement human resources policies and procedures.
  • Negotiate the collective agreement.
  • Advise and assist the various department directors in interpreting and administering personnel policies and programs such as the performance management program and objective setting.
  • Oversee job classification and evaluation.
  • Actively participate in the labor relations committee.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, such as the Pay Equity Act.
  • Lead the recruitment process and ensure its activities comply with applicable policies, procedures, and laws.
  • Determine salary scales and benefits through job evaluations while maintaining pay equity.
  • Develop the communication plan and ensure its implementation.
  • Advise managers on measures to be taken following deviations in conduct and performance.
  • Manage international transfers and the required documents for the person (visa, work permit, insurance, etc.).
  • Implement and administer corporate programs and follow up on them.
  • Supervise members of the HR team and ensure their activities follow HR policies as well as those of the organization.
