About The Position

All Ways Caring HomeCare is hiring Direct Support Professionals to provide compassionate direct care to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a home-like setting and in clients’ homes. The role supports clients’ dignity, privacy, independence, health, and participation in community activities. It includes personal care, implementation of individual service and behavior support plans, behavior prevention or de-escalation, documentation, and transportation. The posted salary range is $14.00–$15.00 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age.
Pass a background check.
Have a driver’s license and valid auto insurance.
Have a high school diploma or GED.
Have a Direct Support Professional (DSP) certification; or provide a high school diploma/transcript or GED diploma and have at least six months of experience providing behavioral health-related services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, or documented experience providing specific supports to individuals with disabilities.

Responsibilities

Assist with personal hygiene, grooming, feeding, ambulation, medical monitoring, and other health care-related tasks.
Foster positive relationships between individuals served and their circle of support.
Encourage self-help activities.
Implement Individual Service Plans and Behavior Support Plans.
Prevent or de-escalate aggressive behaviors.
Maintain accurate daily documentation, including activities, fire and disaster drills, behavior support plans, medications, goals, and data tracking.
Transport individuals to and from community activities and medical appointments.
Transport clients or run errands for clients.
Perform other duties as assigned.
