About The Position

All Ways Caring HomeCare is hiring a Direct Support Professional to provide compassionate, individualized care to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a home-like setting. The role supports clients in their homes and in the community, helping them maintain dignity, privacy, and independence. It includes personal care, health-related support, implementation of service and behavior plans, documentation, and transportation.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years old.
Pass a background check.
Have a driver's license and valid auto insurance.
Have a high school diploma or GED.
Have a Direct Support Professional (DSP) certification; or provide a copy of a high school diploma/transcript or GED diploma and have at least six months of experience providing behavioral health-related services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, or documented experience providing specific supports to individuals with disabilities.

Responsibilities

Perform personal care tasks, including assistance with personal hygiene and grooming, feeding, and ambulation.
Provide medical monitoring and health care-related support.
Foster positive relationships between individuals served and their circle of support.
Encourage self-help activities.
Implement Individual Service Plans and Behavior Support Plans.
Manage behaviors through prevention or de-escalation of aggression.
Maintain accurate daily documentation of activities, fire and disaster drills, Behavior Support Plans, medications, goals, data tracking, and other required records.
Transport individuals to and from community activities and medical appointments.
Transport clients or run errands for clients.
Perform other duties as assigned.
