About The Position

All Ways Caring HomeCare is hiring a Direct Support Professional to provide compassionate, individualized care to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a home-like setting and in the comfort of their homes. The role supports clients’ dignity, privacy, and independence and includes personal care, health-related tasks, implementation of service and behavior support plans, documentation, and transportation to community activities and medical appointments.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Pass a background check.
• Have a driver’s license and valid auto insurance.
• Have a high school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal hygiene and grooming, feeding, and ambulation.
• Perform medical monitoring and health care-related tasks.
• Foster positive relationships between individuals served and their circle of support.
• Encourage self-help activities.
• Implement Individual Service Plans and Behavior Support Plans.
• Prevent or de-escalate aggression and manage individuals’ behaviors.
• Maintain accurate daily documentation of activities, fire and disaster drills, Behavior Support Plans, medications, goals, data tracking, and other required information.
• Transport individuals to and from community activities and medical appointments.
• Transport clients or run errands for clients.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
