About The Position

Lifetime Assistance is hiring a full-time Residential Direct Support Professional in Brockport, New York, to support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The role focuses on fostering independence, dignity, and respect while helping individuals with daily living, personal care, health and safety, skill development, and community participation. The schedule is Sunday through Thursday, 11 p.m. to 7 a.m., with Friday and Saturday off. The starting wage is $21.55 per hour, plus an overnight shift differential. No prior experience is required. The position reports to the Residential Manager.

Requirements

• No prior experience is required.
• Dependability, friendliness, care, and trustworthiness.
• Ability to follow individualized plans and safety protocols.
• Basic computer literacy for documentation in the Electronic Health Record.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and adaptability.
• Must pass required background checks and clearances, including SCR, fingerprinting, SEL, and MHL.
• Must meet Lifetime Assistance’s Vehicle Operator requirements, except for overnight and relief shifts.
• First Aid/CPR, SCIP-R, and Medication Administration certification, or the ability to obtain them.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and assistance with daily living activities, including hygiene, grooming, dressing, meals, and household tasks, including thorough cleaning.
• Support individuals in developing independence, self-help, and social skills.
• Ensure individuals’ health, safety, and well-being, including administering medication if certified.
• Implement individualized service plans and daily supports, and document progress.
• Encourage community integration and participation in social and recreational activities.
• Drive agency vehicles for transportation as needed.
• Communicate positively and professionally with individuals, families, and colleagues.
• Complete required training, certifications, and ongoing professional development.
