About The Position
People Creating Success (PCS) is hiring a Direct Support Professional for its supported living service program in the San Fernando Valley, North Los Angeles, and surrounding areas. The role supports adults with developmental disabilities in pursuing everyday goals, building independence, and participating in their communities. The work includes helping participants with daily living and personal care, encouraging their interests and social activities, and working with them on person-centered care plans. Part-time afternoon and overnight shifts are available. The position pays $20.25 per hour and includes mileage reimbursement and a $10 monthly cell phone stipend.
Requirements
- Compassionate, person-centered approach.
- Ability to communicate with dignity and respect, especially during challenging moments.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Clean background and ability to pass a live scan.
- Ability to pass a drug screening.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Responsible and able to assist with tracking progress toward goals.
- CPR/First Aid certification; training will be provided if not certified or recertification is needed.

- Weekend availability is a plus but is not required.
Responsibilities
- Support participants with daily living skills, including cleaning, cooking, and budgeting.
- Encourage and model independence, hobbies, and social activities.
- Assist participants in accessing and participating in community activities.
- Assist with personal care, including medication support, hygiene, and bathing; lifting and transferring are required.
- Collaborate with participants on person-centered care planning.
- Record progress on care plans.
- Support individuals through heightened emotional responses, complex behaviors, and sensory overload using proactive redirection and calming techniques.
- Recognize early signs of stress or escalation and guide individuals through personalized self-regulation strategies.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and detailed shift logs and progress notes.
