About The Position
People Creating Success is hiring a Direct Support Professional for its supported living service program serving adults with developmental disabilities in the San Fernando Valley, North Los Angeles, and surrounding areas. The role involves building genuine relationships and helping participants explore their communities, develop their interests, and pursue greater independence. The position is part-time and pays $20.25 per hour, with overnight shifts from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. Mileage reimbursement and a $10 monthly cell phone stipend are offered. Health care benefits and PTO may be available if an employee transitions to full-time employment. The company also offers pet insurance discounts and a Cal-Savers retirement plan.
Requirements
- Compassionate, person-centered approach.
- Ability to communicate with dignity and respect, especially during challenging moments.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Responsible and able to assist with tracking progress toward goals.
- CPR/First Aid certification; training will be provided if the candidate is not certified or needs recertification.

- Weekend availability is a plus but not required.
Responsibilities
- Support participants with daily living skills, including cleaning, cooking, and budgeting.
- Encourage and model independence, hobbies, and social activities.
- Help participants access and take part in community activities.
- Assist with personal care, including medication support, hygiene, and bathing; lifting or transferring may be required.
- Collaborate with participants on person-centered care planning.
- Keep records of progress toward care plan goals.
- Support individuals during heightened emotional responses, complex behaviors, and sensory overload using proactive redirection and calming techniques.
- Recognize early signs of stress or escalation and guide individuals through personalized self-regulation strategies.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and detailed shift logs and progress notes.
